The Karnataka government has allowed the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to hold matches at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. This decision followed discussions among the BBMP Commissioner, Police Commissioner, and legal officials.

This move comes after a tragic stampede outside the stadium during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) celebration for their IPL 2025 title win on June 3. The incident resulted in 11 deaths and over 50 injuries, leading authorities to label the venue unsafe for large crowds.

Since then, the state government has set strict security requirements. KSCA and RCB have collaborated to enhance safety measures. Last month, RCB invested INR 4.50 crore to install 300-350 AI-powered cameras at the stadium for crowd management and safety.
