Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir has criticized India’s opener Abhishek Sharma, labeling him a slogger who can be easily dismissed. Speaking on a Pakistani channel before the upcoming IND vs PAK match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Amir stated that Abhishek lacks consistency and solid technique.

The match is scheduled for February 15. Abhishek is currently recovering from a stomach infection, making his participation uncertain. He is ranked No.1 in T20I batting according to the ICC and has delivered several match-winning performances.

With 1,297 runs at a strike rate close to 200, Amir remains unimpressed and shared a strategy to dismiss Abhishek.

“Abhishek Sharma is a slogger, aiming to hit every ball. His chances of failing are high. He scores in only one out of every eight innings. He lacks technical skills and just slogs,” he commented.

“He plays a high-risk game. You can place a fielder at deep cover and bowl to his body. He will struggle against slower balls,” he added.

Abhishek mentioned that he understands bowlers’ variations and works hard to stay ahead.

“Bowlers won’t give me pace in the World Cup. I realized this in recent games, so I’m preparing to handle different variations. To play aggressive Cricket, you need to be ready,” he said.
