England won against Scotland by 5 wickets, keeping their hopes alive for the Super 8 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup. Tom Banton’s impressive score helped the team chase down a target of 153 runs. Early on, the two-time champions struggled when Phil Salt (2) and Jos Buttler (3) were out quickly, leaving the score at just 13.

Jacob Bethell and Banton then stabilized the innings by scoring 66 runs together for the third wicket. Bethell contributed 32 runs off 28 balls, with 2 fours and 1 six.

All-rounder Sam Curran also added to the total, making 28 runs off 20 balls, which included 2 sixes and 1 four. Banton finished the match not out, scoring 63 runs off 41 balls, featuring 4 fours and 3 sixes, as England reached their target in 18.2 overs.

Scotland’s bowlers, Oliver Davidson, Brad Currie, Brandon McMullen, Brad Wheal, and Michael Leask each took 1 wicket but couldn’t contain the England batsmen.
