India made two changes to their lineup for the last group stage match against the Netherlands. The team has already secured a spot in the Super 8 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, prompting the management to give all-rounder Washington Sundar a chance to play after his recovery from injury sustained during the opener against the USA.
Sundar replaced Axar Patel, who was rested, while Kuldeep Yadav, who played in the previous match against Pakistan, was left out to make room for pacer Arshdeep Singh.
India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, won the toss and chose to bat first to test the bowlers in conditions affected by dew. The defending champions will face South Africa in their first Super 8 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This decision aims to provide valuable practice to the team.
“We are batting first as the wicket looks good. Our first Super 8 match is here, so we want to set a target and see how our bowlers handle the dew. We’ve made two changes, with Arshdeep Singh replacing Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar coming in for Axar Patel,” Suryakumar Yadav said.
