Matt Henry provided New Zealand with an excellent start in their Super 8 match against Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup 2026. Bowling from a good length, he made the ball seam sharply back in, setting up a perfect debut for the match.
Pathum Nissanka, who had recently performed well in a match against Australia, struggled with his technique. He remained rooted in his stance and attempted to play across the ball, resulting in a clear LBW decision as it slipped through his inside edge and struck the top of his middle stump.
Nissanka was dismissed for a first-ball duck, leaving the crowd in stunned silence. Henry celebrated with joy, marking a fantastic opening for New Zealand in this game.
