An argument broke out between a Pakistani fan and an England supporter during the Super 8 match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. The exchange escalated until other spectators intervened. Earlier, the same Pakistani fan had an altercation with notable Australian YouTuber Jake Jeakings.
In the match, England triumphed over Pakistan by 2 wickets, with Harry Brook scoring a century to lead his team. England progressed to the semi-finals, with Brook hitting 100 runs from 51 balls, including 10 fours and 4 sixes.
Irfan Pathan praised Brook’s performance. He noted, “Brook promoted himself in the batting order. He had never batted above the number 4 position in T20 cricket, so moving to No. 3 in a World Cup match was a significant decision. He made one of the best hundreds.”
“His century is a big plus for England. He came in at a time when Shaheen Afridi was bowling strongly. He coped well under pressure and took charge against the bowlers.
