The Bangladesh Cricket Board plans to change the schedule of their upcoming International matches as part of energy-saving efforts.

The Bangladesh Men’s team will face New Zealand in a white-ball series, while the women’s team will host Sri Lanka in a T20I series.

Men’s ODIs, originally starting at 2:00 pm BST, will now begin at 11:00 am to ensure games finish by sunset at 6:30 pm. Men’s T20Is will start at 2:00 pm, ending by 5:30 pm. The women’s T20Is, scheduled for 6:00 pm, will now begin at 1:30 pm.

“The board has decided to change the match timings for the upcoming Bangladesh vs New Zealand ODI and T20I series to support the energy-saving initiative. The revised timing will maximize daylight use in day-night games,” the BCB stated, as reported by Cricbuzz.

This decision aligns with broader energy-saving measures in the country due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. Office hours and shopping times have been adjusted to help reduce energy use.

New Zealand is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on April 13, with the three-match ODI series starting on April 17. The first two ODIs will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on April 17 and 20, followed by the third ODI in Chattogram on April 23.

The teams will remain in Chattogram for the first two T20Is on April 27 and 29, before returning to Dhaka for the final T20I on May 2. Meanwhile, the women’s team will play Sri Lanka in a three-match series in Sylhet on April 28, 30, and May 2.
