Former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh criticized the Delhi Capitals (DC) management for sticking with Pathum Nissanka instead of utilizing local players. His comments came after Nissanka was out for 19 runs off 15 balls, dismissed by Mukesh Choudhary during the match against the Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 5.

Ganesh pointed out that there is significant Indian batting talent available in the Delhi Capitals lineup. He suggested that players like Prithvi Shaw, Nitish Rana, or Abishek Porel could open the batting alongside KL Rahul, while David Miller could return to strengthen the middle order. The 52-year-old criticized the team’s decision-making by referring to the DC management as “geniuses.”

“There’s so much Indian batting talent available in Delhi’s camp. They can so easily open with Shaw/Rana/Porel along with KL, & have Miller in the middle order. Instead, the geniuses play Nissanka at the top & drop Miller. Tell me, how can this be a serious Cricket team,” Ganesh wrote on his official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account.
