Bhuvneshwar Kumar is among the fittest fast bowlers India has seen in recent years. Hailing from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, he has not missed any IPL season since 2010 due to injuries or fitness issues.
His IPL career began in 2010 when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (formerly Royal Challengers Bangalore) signed him for INR 6 lakhs. In 2011, he moved to Pune Warriors India (PWI) for INR 20 lakhs, playing three seasons (2011, 2012, and 2013) and taking 24 wickets in 31 matches.
In 2014, his earnings soared when Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) acquired him for INR 4.25 crore at the auction. Over 11 years with SRH, he took 157 wickets in 145 games, making him the franchise’s leading wicket-taker even two years after leaving. Rashid Khan follows with 93 wickets.
At SRH, Bhuvneshwar maintained an average of 26.81 with an economy rate of 7.72, including two five-wicket hauls. He made a return to Royal Challengers Bengaluru when they bought him again for INR 10.75 crore at the IPL 2025 auction.
