The Netherlands has called up 17-year-old batter Cedric de Lange as one of three injury replacements for its upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.

Ryan Klein and Fred Klaassen have been ruled out of the series due to injuries, while Saqib Zulfiqar has withdrawn citing personal reasons.

The trio is replaced by De Lange, Sebastiaan Braat and all-rounder Sikander Zulfiqar.

De Lange has been rewarded for his consistent performances at the Under-19 level as well as in domestic T20s.

“It’s always exciting to bring a youngster into the squad. Cedric has been impressive all summer and he’s really earned this call-up. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can offer us on this tour and, hopefully, across a long career ahead of him,” Netherlands captain Scott Edwards said of De Lange.

The series will begin on August 30 in Sylhet. The following two games will be held on September 1 and 3 at the same venue.

Netherlands squad: Scott Edwards (c), Noah Croes, Max O’Dowd, Vikramjit Singh, Teja Nidamanuru, Sikander Zulfiqar, Cedric de Lange, Kyle Klein, Aryan Dutt, Paul van Meekeren, Shariz Ahmad, Ben Fletcher, Daniel Doram, Sebastiaan Braat, Tim Pringle.
