England has announced a 15-player squad for their upcoming Test match against India women, set to take place at Lord’s next month after the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. This match will be the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s, a venue rich in Cricket history.

The squad features five uncapped players, with Alice Capsey being the most experienced internationally. She will be joined by Mady Villiers, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Grace Potts, and Ellie Threlkeld, each aiming to make an impact in this format. Nat Sciver-Brunt is appointed as captain and will lead the team if she is fit to play during this historic event.

Clare Connor, the ECB’s Managing Director of Women’s Cricket, highlighted the importance of this match: “We have selected a strong Test squad led by Nat Sciver-Brunt for what will be another historic few days at Lord’s for women’s cricket.

“Test cricket provides a unique and challenging experience in the women’s game, and our players take great pride in representing England in this format.

“For the 11 women who will be the first to experience this at Lord’s, it will be a moment to cherish.”

Connor’s comments reflect the pride and excitement around the event. For many players, this represents a rare chance to make their mark in history at the “Home of Cricket”.
