Former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth discussed the difficult period of his career related to the 2013 IPL match-fixing scandal on the show ‘Who’s The Boss?’ with his wife, Bhuvneshwari Kumari.
Sreesanth talked about the unfortunate timing of his arrest in May 2013, which happened while he was planning his wedding. He expressed that he felt he was wrongly accused of serious allegations during the investigation.
“When I met her in 2007, I thought that if I continued playing until the 2011 World Cup and won, I might never marry. But if I did, it would only be her. Everything fell into place—we won the World Cup, and then we got married. After the World Cup, she received many proposals, and we had to decide quickly. In 2012, I had six surgeries and was using a wheelchair. I told her father that I might not play again, and during that time, I was also labeled a terrorist. So many things were happening at once,” he shared.
