Gulf Giants have appointed Simon Helmot as their new head coach for the fifth edition of the International League T20 (ILT20). He takes over from Jonathan Trott, who coached the team for one season (2025-26). The Giants won the first ILT20 title in the 2022/23 season under Andy Flower, but ended their partnership with him last season before hiring Trott.

Currently, Helmot serves as an assistant coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He shared his enthusiasm about joining the Giants, stating, “I’m excited to join Gulf Giants and be part of the next phase of the franchise’s journey in the UAE ILT20.”
