Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag will miss Match 64 of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday, May 19, at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Yashasvi Jaiswal will step in as captain for the second time this season.
Jaiswal mentioned that Parag has a hamstring injury, which has kept him out of the game. Earlier in the season, Jaiswal also led Rajasthan in Match 52 against Gujarat Titans (GT), where RR lost by 77 runs.
“Captaining means a lot to me, and I’m proud to represent the Rajasthan Royals franchise. Riyan has a hamstring injury, but I hope he’ll recover soon. He’s not playing today. We’ve made three changes: Sandy, Sushant Mishra, and Lhuan-dre Pretorious are in,” said Jaiswal at the toss.
Rajasthan has made three adjustments for this crucial match, bringing in Sandeep Sharma, Sushant Mishra, and Lhuan-dre Pretorious, while Adam Milne and Ravi Singh have been rested. Ravindra Jadeja is still unavailable as he’s recovering from minor injuries.
“Nothing much to report at the moment. Jaddu bhai is recovering from some niggles, but he’ll be fine soon,” Jaiswal added.
Rajasthan is in a critical position, sitting fifth in the IPL 2026 points table with six wins from 12 matches. They must win both of their remaining games to qualify for the playoffs. LSG currently sits at the bottom of the table with eight points from 12 matches. Having already been eliminated from playoff contention, the team led by Rishabh Pant aims to avoid finishing last.
