Cricket Ireland (CI) has named a 15-member squad for their upcoming Test match against New Zealand, featuring four uncapped players. Reuben Wilson, Jake Egan, Tom Mayes, and Liam McCarthy will join the squad, which will be captained by Andy Balbirnie, who holds the record for the most Test appearances for Ireland, having played in all 12 Tests to date.

Injuries have sidelined Joshua Little, Paul Stirling, Jordan Neil, and Barry McCarthy. As a result, Ireland will face New Zealand with a relatively inexperienced team.

Jake Egan, a 32-year-old all-rounder, earned his spot after scoring his first-class hundred on debut. He contributed significantly to the Strikers’ victory over the Raiders in the Emerald Challenge held recently in Dublin. Opening the batting, Egan made 120 runs, hitting 12 fours, and added 18 runs in the second innings as the Strikers chased down 118 runs, winning by six wickets.
