Zimbabwe Women Set to Host South Africa Women in Exciting Series

Zimbabwe’s women’s Cricket team will host South Africa’s women’s team for a five-match T20I series in September. This series marks the first time the two countries will compete against each other in this format. The matches will take place at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, starting on September 11 and concluding on September 19.

Givemore Makoni, the managing director of Zimbabwe Cricket, expressed excitement about the series. He noted that it presents an excellent chance for their players to compete against top-level talent internationally.

“South Africa is among the strongest teams in world cricket, and this tour provides our players a valuable opportunity to face elite competition in home conditions,” Makoni stated. “This series reflects our commitment to investing in women’s cricket and providing more opportunities for our players to compete at a high level.”

Recently, the Zimbabwe women’s team has had several opportunities to test their skills. They faced Pakistan in a white-ball series with three ODIs and three T20Is, but they lost all the matches. They also played against the White Ferns in New Zealand, participating in three ODIs and three T20Is. Although they did not secure any wins, the tour allowed them to compete with the reigning T20 world champions.
