Bangladesh announced their squad for the first two ODIs of the three-match series against Australia starting on June 9. The selection committee has mostly kept the team that won the recent series against New Zealand 2-1.
Captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz will lead the team, which includes some key players returning for this series. Musaddek Hossain is back in the ODI setup after almost four years, having last played in August 2022.
Wicketkeeper-batter Quazi Nurul Hasan also returns after missing the New Zealand series. Bangladesh will maintain a strong pace attack with Nahid Rana, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Shoriful Islam. Rana was named Player of the Series against New Zealand, taking eight wickets, including a five-wicket haul in the second ODI.
T20I series begins on June 17
Batters Afif Hossain and Mahidul Islam Ankon were dropped after the New Zealand series. Bangladesh will face Australia in three ODIs on June 9, 11, and 14, all at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
Following the ODI series, there will be a three-match T20I series starting on June 17 at Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram. The other two matches are scheduled for June 19 and June 21 at the same venue.
