The West Indies have named their squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at home, featuring some notable changes.

Jayden Seales, Johnson Charles, and Quentin Sampson have been dropped from the 15-member squad. Replacing them are Shamar Springer, Jewel Andrew, and Ackeem Auguste. Springer has played six T20Is, Andrew five, and Auguste has nine appearances.

Alzarri Joseph is also missing, as he has been rested to manage his workload. He will continue training for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Antigua.

Shamar Joseph, a right-arm pacer who had to leave the ODI squad earlier for personal reasons, is expected to be available for the T20I series.

Focus on Development

Head coach Daren Sammy noted that the team is still developing and not yet a top-tier side. He highlighted the need to build on their recent performances at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, where the West Indies demonstrated resilience and teamwork.

“This series is crucial for us as it’s our first since the World Cup in India, where we showed passion and unity, which are hallmarks of West Indies Cricket. Our priority now is to strengthen these foundations, continue growing as a team, and perform well against Sri Lanka,” Sammy stated in a press release from Cricket West Indies.
