The West Indies have included Ackeem Auguste, Jewel Andrew, and Shamar Springer in their T20I squad for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka, beginning this week.

Johnson Charles, Quentin Sampson, and Jayden Seales have been omitted following their participation in the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. This series marks the Windies’ first T20I assignment since their exit from the Super 8s of the tournament. Alzarri Joseph has been rested to manage his workload, as he plays a key role across all formats. Fast bowler Shamar Joseph is expected to return for the T20I series after missing the ODI series for personal reasons.

Auguste, a left-handed batter, has played nine T20Is, scoring 164 runs at a strike rate of 138.98, including one half-century. Andrew, a promising batting talent, has five T20I caps but has struggled with form. All-rounder Springer has appeared in six matches, scoring 71 runs at a strike rate of 157 and taking eight wickets.

“This series is crucial for us as it’s our first since the World Cup in India, where the team showed passion, resilience, and unity. Our aim now is to build on these aspects, continue developing as a team, and perform well against Sri Lanka,” said head coach Daren Sammy, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.

The T20I matches will take place at Sabina Park on June 11, 13, and 14, followed by two Test matches in Antigua. Sri Lanka secured a 1-0 win in the ODI series, with a 41-run victory in the first match. The other two matches were canceled due to rain.
