Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt praised Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues for her impressive century against Australia in the 2025 Women’s World Cup semi-final. Jemimah scored 127 runs off 134 balls, hitting 14 boundaries, which helped India secure a five-wicket win over the defending champions.

Alia described Jemimah’s performance as remarkable and noted that it would motivate many young girls to chase their Cricket dreams. She also extended her congratulations to the Indian women’s team as they prepare for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, starting against Pakistan on June 14 at Edgbaston.

Actress Sharvari also expressed her admiration for Jemimah’s innings. She mentioned her favorite moment was when Jemimah chose to wait until after the match to celebrate her century, opting instead to focus on the team’s victory.

“Jemimah, everyone has seen your innings against Australia. That was an incredible performance. I’m sure you inspired many young girls that day. Just keep being yourself, and we will achieve more,” Alia told JioHotstar.

“The highlight for me was when you didn’t immediately celebrate your personal achievement but kept your focus on the game. You only celebrated when India won. That was a special moment. Wishing you all the best in the future,” said Sharvari.

In response, Jemimah thanked them and shared that it was heartwarming to hear her innings inspired others. She congratulated both actresses on their careers and acknowledged that they had inspired her as well.

“It’s truly special when other women feel inspired. Keep pushing forward in your careers, no matter the field, and you can achieve great things. You have inspired me a lot. Let’s keep spreading hope to everyone around us,” said Jemimah.

Jemimah’s remarkable century was a key moment in India’s historic campaign. Her performance against Australia helped the team reach the final, where they won their first Women’s World Cup title, defeating South Africa by 52 runs. Jemimah finished the tournament as one of India’s top players, scoring 292 runs in seven innings.
