In the Rajasthan Royals’ Qualifier 2 match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 31, he displayed his talent once again. Despite the Royals losing by seven wickets, Sooryavanshi’s brilliant 96-run innings kept him in the spotlight.
His performances have drawn attention from cricket legends, with former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn noting the player’s potential influence beyond white-ball cricket.
On social media, Steyn shared his hope that Sooryavanshi would one day aim to represent India in Test cricket.
“There’s no bigger advertisement for Test cricket than if Sooryavanshi tells the world his dream is to play red ball for India. Our hopes sit with you, young sir,” Steyn wrote on X.
