Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Monday named a 20-member squad for a national training camp to prepare for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, which begins next month.

The camp, to be held in Durban from August 25 to September, will also serve as a warm up for the tour of Pakistan, where South Africa will play three ODIs from September 16 to 22 in Lahore. The World Cup will be held between September 30 and November 2 in India and Sri Lanka.

“The 20-player training camp squad includes players from the recent West Indies tour, with the exception of captain Laura Wolvaardt and all-rounders Chloé Tryon and Marizanne Kapp, who are currently competing in The Hundred,” CSA said in a statement.

The camp also includes former skipper Dane van Niekerk, who revoked her retirement from international cricket and ‘sincerely apologised to Cricket South Africa’ in a social media post on Monday.
