Tamim Iqbal has been appointed as the new full-time president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). He previously served as the BCB president in an ad-hoc committee set up by the government in April.
The government dissolved the previous BCB administration, led by Aminul Islam, after a five-member committee uncovered irregularities in the board elections held in October 2025.
Tamim Iqbal is now the youngest president of the BCB. He retired from International cricket in early 2025, having played 243 ODIs and is the top run-scorer for Bangladesh in this format, amassing 8,357 runs from 240 innings at an average of 36.65, including 14 centuries and 56 fifties.
