Ravi Shastri is recognized for his energetic toss ceremonies. On Thursday, April 23, he officiated the toss for the match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium. Towards the end of his introduction, he briefly forgot the name of CSK’s captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad.
After a short pause, Shastri recalled Gaikwad’s name. Mumbai Indians’ captain Hardik Pandya and Gaikwad both smiled at this rare slip from the former India coach.
