On a challenging pitch at Ekana, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a 40-run victory against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), climbing to the second position in the IPL 2026 standings. With other batsmen struggling, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja played a key role, helping RR recover from a difficult situation and reach a respectable total. He contributed with both bat and ball, taking the wicket of Nicholas Pooran.
For his outstanding performance, he received the Player of the Match award, adding to his successful run in the tournament. After the match, Jadeja expressed gratitude to his wife, Rivaba Jadeja, for her support.
Rivaba Jadeja, who serves as the Education Minister of Gujarat, had shown her support the day before the match, as noted by Ravindra during the post-match ceremony.
During the post-match presentation, Ravindra Jadeja stated:
“Feeling good, getting Man of the Match and winning. I would like to dedicate this award to the Education Minister of Gujarat (Rivaba Jadeja). The wicket wasn’t that easy due to swinging and seaming. I just wanted to play longer.”
At one point, RR found themselves in trouble, losing half their team for just 77 runs. Jadeja made a significant impact by scoring 43 runs off 29 balls and forming a crucial 49-run partnership with Shubham Dubey (19*), helping the team set a target of 159 runs in their 20 overs.
Jadeja also excelled with the ball, taking one wicket for just 29 runs in 4 overs. This marked his 17th Player of the Match award in IPL history, with 16 titles previously earned while playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), making this his first award for the Rajasthan Royals.
